Call for artists!

We are partnering with the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center and the Brattleboro Department of Public Works to paint a mural in downtown Brattleboro. The design of this mural (below) was created by a K-6 student and selected as the winning design by a vote of 7-8 students. We are now calling for an artist or art team who can paint this mural onto a storm drain in the Harmony Lot. The artist(s) will be provided with art fees of $4,600 and paint. Submit your proposal for this project by 5pm on May 5th, 2024. The selected artist will paint the design before the June 7th Gallery Walk.

Adopt-A-Drain Brattleboro

This community-wide project aims to document and remove debris from storm drains in the greater Brattleboro area. With your participation, we can decrease pollution and runoff into our waterways and minimize standing water in areas around storm drains!

Project Goal

Community members will adopt a catch basin, culvert, or pipe outlet to monitor and remove debris. Data collected will be used to understand point pollution in our waterways and areas for future conservation focus.

What participants do

Clear the area on top and around the drain of debris. Collect, document (with datasheet or photos), and remove trash, recycling, and organic materials.

To learn more or adopt your drain, visit our project on anecdata.
